We have been trying to cut down on carbs, and this recipe, using almond flour, does just that! I was surprised how much my grand kids and husband liked them! They are easy to make and great warm out of the oven. I recommend brushing them with butter out of the oven for a little extra Wow! Low Carb/Keto Breadsticks
Ingredients:
• 2 cups almond flour
• 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
• 2 tablespoons cream cheese
• 2 large eggs
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
• 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
• 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
• 1 tablespoon melted butter (optional) for brushing
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Melt Cheeses: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella and cream cheese. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring each time until fully melted and well combined.
3. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the almond flour, baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper.
4. Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Add the melted cheese mixture to the dry ingredients. Crack in the eggs. Mix well until a dough forms. (I used my hands.)
5. Shape the Breadsticks: Divide the dough into 12 equal portions. Roll each portion into a ball and then shape into a breadstick. Arrange them onto the prepared baking sheet.
6. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the breadsticks are golden brown.
7. Optional Butter Brush: If desired, brush the baked breadsticks with melted butter for a glossy finish. 8. Cool and Serve: Allow the breadsticks to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with your favorite keto-friendly dip!
