If you’re going to live in Ely, you’ll need heim-made socks

Heim-made Mohair Socks Blueberry Festival Traditions

Every July, for the past 5 years, we’ve packed up our Heim-made hats, socks and other goodies to go participate in the Blueberry Festival in Ely. We absolutely love doing this show, as well as the Harvet Moon Festival in September because the spirit of these shows are just so upbeat, positive, and fun.

Have you ever been to Ely?

Well, if you haven’t you should know that the Ely community is incredibly friendly and this is truly infectious for both vendors and visitors alike.

We Minnesotans are used to crazy, unpredictable weather, but this year certainly surprised us all. This year’s Blueberry Festival was the coldest on record – and boy was it frigid! But this didn’t seem to affect the numbers of people that came out to the show too much. In fact, it was the most ideal weather for us to showcase our great fall and winter items like the Minne-skirt, hats, hats and more hats, scraves, TherMohair socks and Sole-Mate dyekits.

The TherMohair socks were a crowd pleaser

Would you believe it? Our mohair socks jumped off the shelves so quickly that we actually ran out of some sizes! Hearing what all of you had to say about the our Heim-made socks was a highlight of the weekend. Things like:

  • “These changed my life,”
  • “They have made my day,”
  • “I came back for another pair,”
  • “My boyfriend is a firefighter and he can’t say enough about these socks. I need four more pairs,”

But my absolute favorite was from a sweet gal who said she’d just moved to Ely and was told:

“If you’re going to live in Ely, then you’re going to have to get a pair of heim-made socks.”

Can you believe it? We were out of her size by the time she found us last weekend, but I promised her we’d be back for the Harvent Moon Festival after Labor Day and bring plenty of socks for her to choose from.

Go here to order a pair of the best socks in the world for yourself (ok, maybe we’re a little biased).

Otherwise, stay tuned for more updates because the Heim women have been up to some fun new creations lately – we can’t wait to tell you more!
